Hey you! 

I recently finished NaNoWriMo, otherwise known as National Novel Writing Month. It’s a yearly writing event that challenges writers all around the world to write 50,000 words (a novel, albeit a small one) in a month.

After the whirlwind of “winning” NaNoWriMo, I’ve struggled to maintain creative inspiration as I (try to) tackle a new creative project in December. 

The content below has helped me recharge my creative batteries. I hope it supplies you with the same magic.

8. Designer and entrepreneur Justina Blakeney shares her colorful perspective on home décor through her Instagram account 

9. Lifestyle brand Shoppe Black released a Black-Owned holiday 2020 gift guide

10. Online community I Weigh (created by actress Jameela Jamil) dropped an interview with fashion stylist Basma Khalifa about her journey to become a filmmaker

Writing Prompts: 

1. Your character arrived at this building for the first time. Write a scene documenting their immediate reaction. 

2. Put your favorite TV character into this music video. Write a scene about how they ended up there. 

3. Write a scene documenting your main character’s nightly routine.
